When you are staring down the source of respiratory infections getting your strep swab or examining the pharynx, you need some protection. Stay safe behind the StrepShield. Block those airborne enemies at the source.
Simply pinch the StrepShield onto any tongue depressor as shown in the picture on the right. Maneuver around the short side with your swab or light source. For example, in the picture to the right, the StrepShield and tongue depressor are held in the left hand and the swab or light would be held in the right hand.
The StrepShield is flexible. So you can bend the StrepShield handle either way depending on whether you use the light with your right hand or left hand as shown.
Stay protected behind the wider shield side. Let your patients cough on the shield and not on you! The first time you see the shield fog up, you will be convinced you won’t want to be without the StrepShield. Now you can look longer into the pharynx. Now you can get a better sample and make a better diagnosis. Use antibiotics judiciously.
